Make Billing Day Less About Spreadsheets.
Bring ClickUp time entries, task context, and client fields into a reusable export for your billing workflow.
Sound Familiar?
Your tracked time is in ClickUp. The customer reference sits on the task. The billing file needs its own column names, a specific date format, and hours in a consistent numeric format. Someone has to bring it together before the invoice process can begin.
Build The File Around Your Process.
Select supported time-entry and task fields. Match the related records, rename the output columns, filter the period you need, and save the structure for the next cycle.
| Input | Output Column | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Task client-code custom field | Customer ID | Join using task ID |
| Task name | Work Item | Preserve text |
| Time-entry description | Description | Explicit blank handling |
| Duration | Hours | Decimal hours, two displayed places |
| Entry start | Work Date | YYYY-MM-DD in selected timezone |
The Output
| Customer ID | Work Item | Description | Hours | Work Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AC-104 | Website Review | Review session | 2.50 | 2026-09-01 |
| AC-104 | Support | Configuration fixes | 1.25 | 2026-09-02 |
| BR-208 | Discovery | Workshop | 3.00 | 2026-09-03 |
One row per time entry unless you deliberately configure aggregation. Rate calculations, approvals, taxes, and invoice creation happen in your billing system — DataFlow prepares a file for review and import, not an invoice.
When Requirements Change
A client wants a different date format, or finance renames a column? Edit the saved definition, preview, and save — future runs use the update. Completed runs keep the revision they executed.
Can I round time the way my billing process needs?
Yes — set increments like 15 minutes with round up, down, or nearest, and see the effect in the preview. Rounding each entry can differ from rounding the total; the formatting page shows a concrete example.
Does this connect straight to my accounting system?
V1 produces CSV and Excel files plus supported delivery back into ClickUp. A downloadable file can feed your import workflow; direct accounting integrations are not part of this claim.
